On October 8, 2023 at approximately 6:04PM, the White Plains Police Department received several calls reporting a fight and a man with a gun in the Waller Parking Lot. The parking lot is located in the rear of several restaurants along Mamaroneck Avenue.

Details of the initial altercation are still being investigated, however a male, later identified as TONY MONTAGUE struck a female with a licensed lawfully possessed handgun. 

Two off duty police officers who observed the altercation, drew their weapons and ordered Mr. MONTAGUE to drop his weapon.  Uniformed officers responded and recovered the handgun and all parties were detained.

 
Mr MONTAGUE was charged with: 
 
  • Criminal Possession of Weapon 2nd Degree;
  • Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree;
  • Attempted Assault 2nd Degree.
 
Montague is expected to be arraigned in White Plains City Court later this afternoon.  This incident remains an active investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact Detective Steven Silfa at ssilfa@whiteplainsny.gov or by calling 914-422-6200.
