Fraudsters are using White Plains Police & White Plains City Court telephone numbers and posing as department employees to solicit payments through wire transfer and other methods.

We urge anyone who receives telephone solicitations or emails from people who identify themselves as police officers or employees of the department to hang up.

The City of White Plains Police Department or White Plains City Court does not and will not ask for credit card numbers over the phone, nor request a prepaid debit card or wire transfer. 

Some of the fraudsters’ calls display caller ID that resemble a legitimate source which can lead some people to fall victim to the scammer. 

These scams often target senior citizens.
