In recent months, 18 members of the White Plains Fire Department and 5 members of the Police Emergency Services Unit successfully completed Swift Water/Flood Rescue Technician training at the State Preparedness Training Center in Oriskany, NY.

This physically demanding course included hands-on instruction in rescue swimming, rafting, and urban flood rescue operations.

As flooding events continue to increase in both frequency and intensity, the Department remains committed to ensuring that its personnel are fully prepared to respond to these challenging incidents
