Last night was a special evening at White Plains City Hall as Mayor Justin Brasch officially swore in Wade Hardy as the City’s new Public Safety Commissioner. The ceremony drew a tremendous turnout, bringing together local legislators and officials, members of the community, and both new and longtime members of the law enforcement, fire, and EMS services to celebrate the beginning of an exciting new chapter for public safety in White Plains.

As Public Safety Commissioner, Wade Hardy will lead the overall operations of the City’s police, fire, EMS, and 911 services. Mayor Brasch noted that Commissioner Hardy brings 39 years of experience in law enforcement and corporate security leadership and management to the role, including 22 years with the White Plains Police Department. “We are thrilled to have him on board,” Mayor Brasch said, adding that under his leadership, the City’s already strong Public Safety Department will continue to excel and remain best in class—not only in Westchester, but across New York State and the nation.
