WHITE PLAINS, NY — May 5th, 2026 — The White Plains Police Department announced today the arrest of Dominic Bascoe, 24, in connection with a sophisticated, long-term larceny scheme targeting the Nordstrom department store at The Westchester mall. The investigation, a collaborative effort between the White Plains Police Department’s Detective Division and Nordstrom Asset Protection, revealed a total loss of merchandise valued at over $243,000.

The investigation began on March 18, 2026, when Nordstrom’s Asset Protection team reported an internal theft to the White Plains Police Department. Surveillance footage captured an employee, identified as Bascoe, concealing high-end women’s fragrances and beauty products in clear bags before staging them outside the building’s loading dock on Paulding Street. Bascoe was subsequently observed retrieving the items in his personal vehicle after bypassing all points of sale.

Following the initial report, White Plains Police Detective Garcia and Senior Investigators from Nordstrom’s employee theft detection unit conducted an extensive audit of store records and surveillance. The investigation uncovered a persistent pattern of theft dating back to December 5, 2025. Over the course of four months, Bascoe allegedly orchestrated 32 separate incidents, removing approximately 82 boxes of luxury merchandise, including Dior fragrances and premium beauty creams.

“This arrest is the result of outstanding investigative work and a strong public-private partnership with Nordstrom’s security team,” said Commissioner Wade C. Hardy. “We remain committed to protecting our local business community and ensuring that those who exploit their positions of trust are held accountable.”

Despite Bascoe’s attempts to evade authorities and a period of “no-call, no-show” at his workplace, investigators tracked his vehicle using the Westchester County Police Real-Time Crime Center (RTC). On April 25, 2026, the Westchester County Police Department conducted a targeted traffic stop, leading to Bascoe’s apprehension.

Bascoe was transported to White Plains Police Headquarters, where he was booked, processed, and held for his court appearance.

The City of White Plains Department of Public Safety continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of the city’s vibrant retail areas.
